Team Policies, Handbooks and Guides

Bare Hill Rowing Association is committed to the safety, welfare, education, and standards of conduct of its members. We are dedicated to providing a healthy, safe and supportive environment for all rowers to learn, compete and excel in the sport of rowing.

BHRA affirms its commitment to those principles through the policies below, including participation in the SafeSport campaign in conjunction with USRowing and with the United States Olympic Committee. All athletes and their parents/guardians must adhere to these policies.

BHRA sets forth important information in its Parent and Rower Handbook.  BHRA  is guided by the policies and procedures, including disciplinary procedures, of The Bromfield School as set forth in the school Handbook.

Each season, as applicable, we will follow COVID-19 protocols consistent with all current state, local and USRowing guidelines. Please see our protocol documents, below.

Registration Policies

1. REGISTRATION, PAYMENT AND SUBMISSION OF FORMS IS ALL ONLINE.  Once your registration is electronically submitted, all required forms may be uploaded at the time of registration. Please scan and send PDF's of physical and swim test form. No jpeg accepted.

2. Registrations are not complete until online registration and payment is complete AND all supplemental forms are submitted.

3.  All required forms and fees must be received by the dates in the calendar to be eligible for the first day of practice. Athletes with incomplete registration, forms or payment will not be allowed to practice

4. Athletes must  be current on all payments to the club, including equipment fee obligations, to be eligible to register, participate or practice for any given season, despite registration being complete.

5.  Athletes must have registered as a MEMBER with USRowing.org or JOIN or RENEW their membership to include eligibility through spring season dates (through June 15).

6. ALL applicants who withdraw before the registration deadline of their program will receive a full refund less the processing fee.

7. To comply with state regulations, physical exams are required every thirteen months to the day of the exam. For example, if a student-athlete has a physical exam dated  February  1, 2023 that exam will expire on March 1, 2024, meaning as of March  2, 2024, the student-athlete becomes ineligible to practice or compete until they present proof of a current physical exam to the BHRA Registrar.

If your child's physical will expire during the spring season, please schedule a doctor’s appointment as soon as possible and submit the updated physical to the BHRA Registrar BEFORE the expiration date.

There will be no exceptions to this rule, nor will there be extensions granted based upon a doctor’s note.  If you have a current physical on file with BHRA that meets this date criteria, you do NOT need to resubmit this form.
