Program Description
At BHRA we are committed to providing excellence at every level of instruction in the sport. Our 8th Grade Middle School curriculum provides young athletes with opportunities to develop their formative rowing skills and progress by focusing primarily on sculling.
Who may participate:
Our goals are to:
Provide middle schoolers with a level playing field to learn, excel, and try something new
Offer developmentally-appropriate rowing in sculling boats, promoting wellness and longevity in the sport
Enable young athletes to gain a strong foundation and understanding of the work ethic, commitment and camaraderie that lies at the heart of rowing in preparation to become leaders on the competitive high school team, while still accommodating middle school schedules and interests.
Above all, we strive to help all of our rowers grow, develop and have fun with the sport of rowing, both on and off the water.
Program Prerequisites
8th grade, with no rowing experience required
Practices are 3 days a week
