Post-Season Racing (crews must qualify)

Bare Hill Rowing enjoys a tradition of sending outstanding crews to compete in the highest caliber national and international post-season regattas. We are proud of the notable success our program has achieved at these levels. We believe that these experiences broaden and enhance the development of young adults who aspire to excellence in the sport. We support the efforts of our team to compete at these levels, when, in the program's best judgment, we have the crews and the club resources to do so.

Costs for post-season regattas are shared between BHRA and participating athletes' families. The costs will vary based on the regatta location and number of participating athletes. Trips are planned with affordable budgeting in mind. Families are responsible for their own travel arrangements and share in the other costs of coach and team travel with the club. For Nationals travel, for example, the cost of an athlete's participation typically averages $1,000 or more.

Travel to compete at the Henley Royal Regatta in England is not annual and is undertaken on a select basis with appropriately competitive crews. Similar cost apportionment takes place between BHRA and participating families for this unique and special trip. Participation in these trips is encouraged. However, crew selection is ultimately determined by coach advisement and in the coaches' discretion.

  • US Rowing Youth Nationals (qualifying crews)– Typically first week of June, see Spring Calendar Tab.

  • Occasional Henley, England competitive trip – 3 weeks in late June, early July
